Jason began as the Lead Pastor at College Park in February of 2020.  He and his wife, Melanie have 3 children, Isaiah, Sophia, and Jonah.  Jason has a BA in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (1999), and a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois (2010).  After 6 years as a Youth Pastor and 15 years as a Worship Pastor, Jason and Melanie discerned it was time to make a shift into the senior leadership and teaching ministries of the Church.  Their prayerful search connected them with College Park in late 2019 and a few months later moved to Huntington.

Jason is passionate about the ministry of teaching and discipleship in the Church and commits much of his week to pursuing excellence of biblical insight, interpretation, and delivery of the Word of God.  Still a worship leader at heart, he loves his relationship with our Worship Pastor and the opportunities they have to create and lead worship gatherings for the Church.

Jason and his family enjoy outdoor and physical activities.  You can often find them out walking around Memorial Park in Huntington and the many trails throughout the county.  They also love visiting with other individuals and families and being invited to dinner!  The Carters prefer to spend their vacation time visiting state and national parks, and/or being on the water at a lake or a beach.  Jason spends other leisure time woodworking, playing indoor volleyball, and disc golf.
