Season of Service

As the holiday season approaches, we are partnering with United with Love to serve our community. The entire church can participate in gathering donations and serving at United with Love on December 2, from 1-3pm, but there will be special opportunities for our kids.

We want to partner with parents in teaching our kids the importance of loving our neighbors, as well as giving them opportunities to serve and donate. It can be easy to fill a bag when you go to the grocery store, but if kids have to earn the money to buy what is donated, they will have more ownership and understand the sacrifices God asks us to make for others.

While each family can serve in a variety of ways on their own, the CP Children’s Ministry team will also have ways for our kids to earn “CP dollars” to use at our store. The store will have items from the list of needed supplies for United with Love, and when “purchased” can go into the family’s donation bag, which can be returned to church by Sunday, November 26th.

One such service opportunity is on November 4th; at 1pm, we will be painting pumpkins to give to specific members of our church community. This event is open to babies old enough to hold a paintbrush up through 5th grade.

There are also cleaning and organizing tasks for elementary age kids to help with to earn “CP dollars.” If you are interested in volunteering in this way, contact Stephanie (stephanie@cpubchurch.com) to schedule a time that is convenient for your family.

There are a few spots available to pick up communion cups after each service on Sunday, November 5th; there are opportunities for kids to help with greeting and handing out bulletins as well. Contact Stephanie to sign up for these options.
