As Christians it seems like it should be easy to connect with people…..Jesus did it all the time…so why is it so difficult? What keeps us from deeper community with our church family? Why don’t we have our neighbors over? What stops us from saying hello to that stranger? Why don’t we take the time to get to know people? Have you ever felt intimidated to connect with new people or overwhelmed by the thought of inviting people into your home?
Jesus is the best example of hospitality, and the practice of hospitality opens the door to show people more of who He is. Further it follows the pattern and practice of God’s people throughout the entirety of the Bible; they broke bread, did life together, and functioned as a family-the family of God. Hospitality 101 will both encourage you and model how to “use your Christian home in a way that seeks to make strangers neighbors, and neighbors family of God” (The Gospel Comes With a House Key). Join us this fall for a 5 week experiential course in which we’ll share meals, read and discuss The Gospel Comes With a House Key, and invite you to take part in a series of challenges meant to spur one another on in the practice of hospitality.
Space is limited to 6 people. Couples and singles are welcome to join. Please sign up if you’re interested.
Note: Because the class is only 5 weeks, it’s important that you are able to attend all of the classes. If there is a scheduling conflict, please wait to sign up at a later time.
